Ruth Sanchez,

College Access Coordinator

Ruth serves as the College Access Coordinator at West Adams Prep High School. At the College Center, she helps Seniors determine their college eligibility, guides them through the college application process, and holds workshops to prepare students for life after high school.

 

Ruth joined LA Promise Fund in 2016, after finishing her undergraduate studies at Occidental College. Throughout her college years, Ruth worked as a math tutor and mentor for students in Eagle Rock, Belmont, and Franklin High School.

 

Ruth received her B.A. in Latin American Studies and Spanish. In 2015 she traveled to Peru to study and do research in the indigenous community of Infierno. Ruth has worked as a mentor for Oxy Upward Bound and as a teaching fellow in Boston for Generation Teach.

 

On her spare time, Ruth enjoys going to the beach, hiking, and being outdoors. Her favorite books are: Flowers for Algernon, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.
