Mia Henley,

Associate Director of Development

<< Back to Team

Mia joined the LA Promise Fund as the Associate Director of Development in Summer 2016, following the combining of forces between the LA Fund and LA’s Promise. Mia will manage all development communications, maintain our donor database, and write grants and grant reports for LA Promise Fund. She will also collaborate with the Development and Program teams for fundraising and other special events.

Previously, Mia worked for one year at the LA Fund as the Development Associate and Office Manager, where she managed all office operations and assisted in development strategy and implementation. Prior to that, Mia worked for four years at a start-up healthy snack food company, where she wore numerous hats and honed her operations and marketing skills.

Mia graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY. While in school in New York, Mia discovered and interned with a food workers’ rights non-profit called Brandworkers, which fights for justice for immigrant workers using organizing, grassroots advocacy, and legal actions to build a food system that provides high-quality local food and good local jobs.

As a native Los Angeleno, Mia enjoys spending her free time hiking in Griffith Park, visiting the Pacific Ocean, and eating her way through LA’s delicious food scene.
