Alejandro joined LA's Promise as the Community Partnerships Coordinator in August 2014 through the AmeriCorps VISTA program. He provided assistance to the school sites, expanded current offerings, and helped develop new programs.

Alejandro received his B.A in Sociology, with a minor in Latin American Studies, from CSU Long Beach. He then went on to obtain his M.A in Sociology from CSU Northridge. For his thesis he conducted research within a rural pueblo in Mexico. Alejandro examined the interactions between mestizos and the indigenous, Tarahumara, community members.

His favorite books are Empire of the Summer Moon, Desperation, and 1491. He enjoys running, and training in jiu jitsu and boxing.
